In the first Covid lockdown, I volunteered for “Scrubs4Heroes” an initiative that created a volunteer network to make NHS scrubs. Scrubs4Heroes supported over 40 NHS hospitals with free scrubs - providing real help during the drive to equip the former NHS staff coming out of retirement and the subsequent PPE shortage. I drove over 1,300 miles to take volunteer-made scrubs to hospitals across the country. It was an amazing experience, meeting nurses, Drs and volunteers from Southport to Basildon.
